License Suspension Pending Prosecution

When you are arraigned in court for a DWI offense, the judge will suspend your license pending prosecution.  This means that your license is suspended until your case is resolved.  What the judge does not tell you is that you are entitled to a hearing before your license can be suspended.  Generally, this hearing (known as a Pringle hearing), is very difficult to win but at the conclusion of the hearing I will ask the judge to give my client a conditional license that allows him/her to drive to work and to the doctor's.  Thirty days after the arraignment, you are entitled to a conditional license with less restrictions.  This license is referred to as a "pre-conviction conditional license" or a "pickle".
